The Meaning of Life on Land


 


Life on land saves, re-establishes, and boosts sustainability by using terrestrial ecosystems, managing forests sustainably, fighting desertification, stopping and inverting land degradation, and halting biodiversity loss (Global Goals Organization, 2015).

The Importance of life on land:

For sustenance and sources of income, human life has to rely on the land as much as on the ocean because plant life offers 80% of the human food, and we count on agriculture as an important economic resource and forests encompass 30% of the earth's surface, offering vital habitats for millions of kinds, and important sources for clean air and water, also being crucial for fighting weather change (Land Portal Organization, 2021).

Statistics and Data of Life on Land:

Nearly 1.6 billion people rely on forests for their lives. Also, forests are home to over 80% of all terrestrial kinds of animals, plants, and insects. There are 74% of the impoverished directly influenced by global land degradation. In addition, 8% of the origin of 8,300 known animal breeds are extinct, and 22% are at risk of extinction. furthermore, Plants can provide more than 80% of human food, and there only three grains crops are rice, maize and wheat offer 60% of energy income. Also, there are 80% of people living in the countryside in developing countries depend on traditional herbal medicines for health care (UNCCD, 2021).
